What is Kombucha?

Kombucha is a beverage made from tea, sugar that is fermented with a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY). The SCOBY consumes sugar and tea to produce a tangy, naturally effervescent drink that is low in calories, rich in probiotics, enzymes, and organic acids.

The story of kombucha begins thousands of years ago and is believed to have its origins in China. It was traditionally brewed at home and valued for its balancing and energising qualities. Over time, it made its way across continents, evolving through different cultures. Today, it’s enjoyed around the world as a refreshing, gut-friendly alternative to sugary or alcoholic drinks.
